Buckcherry - Josh Todd (Vocals)

I picked up the Buckcherry debut album in 1999 in a record store in Hannover, Germany in 1999 without listenig to it. I liked the cover and the fact that it was produced by Terry Date. I was quite surprised to get kickass oldschool rock rather than metal for my cash. I admit to having been irritaded at first, but the material grew on me. The cool thing is, that the new album is still in the same vein of musical style. How are the fans reacting so far?

We’re actually getting a lot of new fans and keeping the old ones it’s been great.

What was the main reason to revive Buckcherry after the hiatus since july 2002?

Passion.. We never wanted it to end the way it did and BC was Keith and my baby we didn’t want to let it go.

Does Buckcherry mean a cheap whore who sells her cherry for a buck or is that just a myth?

Myth.

Does the album title „15“ have a special meaning?

We had a very small budget and we tracked the record in 15 days and after the mixing process was over and we heard it back we had to title it 15 because we didn’t think anyone would believe it.

The single „crazy bitch“ was a smash hit in the US already. I had to smile while headbanging when I listened to it for the first time, because I was dating this girl a couple of years back whose nickname was „crazy bitch“. She fucked so good but was really annoying in a lot of other fields. I’m shure a lot of people can relate as most people run into a crazy bitch at one time in their life. Where the lyrics written about situations like these in general or is that „special“ crazy bitch from the song an actual person out there?

No, it was actually written about girls that you just described.

What was the most embarrasing thing that ever happend to you on stage?

I pushed so hard when I was singing that a little nugget of shit shot out my ass.

When are you coming over to tour Germany?

Probably early 2007

Have you been to Germany before (if so, I unfortunately missed it)?

Yes we played there a few times on the first record cycle.

Have you ever been to a Metal Skool show at the Key Club? If so, did you like it?

Yeah we actually played a show with them when we first got back together it was fun and their show is great.

It was actually with Keith and I and Slash didn’t want to do it we tried it just didn’t work out to his liking.
