Dog Eat Dog

Dog Eat DogWhat have you been doing the last 6 years before you came up with the „Walk With Me“ - Record?

Trying to get our business & our lives in order.

Do you think that the crowd will be satisfied with your new Album?

We hope so but we are our own worse critics so if we are happy & proud of the record ? (We are!) Than we know we did our best.

What was the reason that you changed your label after being on Roadrunner Records so long?

We never felt like we belonged @RR. We had some good times with them for sure but we were far from a typical RR band. We had a very bad record contract that we signed when we were just starting out. It was important to the future of our band that we get off that label - even if it took 6 years to come back from it.

How would you describe your musical progress from „Warrant“ to „Walk With Me“?

Whoa. Just like our lives, a lot has changed in 16 years but the philosophy has not. When we started we just wanted to stay open minded & not try to do 1 style or sound, just do what we feel. We have been influenced by so much & have lived thru so much that the new music reflects the changes we have been thru.

Where do you get your influences from? Where does your inspiration come from ?

music, movies, reading … life experience. Everyday hopefully provides us with learning - good or bad. It’s impossible for us to have traveled to 38 countries & not learn stuff or grow through the 16+ years we have been at it.

Do you remember the worst show that you have ever played?

See above comments. To me there is no „bad“ show. It’s all about going thru it. So one person might think „oh how can a show for 50 people be good when you have played to 50,000?“ but some of the more „dodgy“ shows have been the most memorable to me.

Dog Eat DogWhen would you say was the crucialist point in your career?

Everyday. From day 1 we just wanted to have fun, make a party for us & our friends. We have been able to do that & so much more over the course of 16 years. So if it all ended tomorrow? I would have no regrets. The decision to do the next gig, record the next cd is in our hands everyday & that’s why I say that everyday is a crucial point to the band. sure we’ve had some up’s & downs over the years but we have remained friends & really fought our way back to make this record & we are proud of it & ourselves.

What was the most embarassing thing that ever happened on stage?

I have called a city by the wrong name or said „Germany“ when I am in Austria or shit like that. Hey, that’s part of touring - sometimes you don’t know where you are you move so much. Taking an unplanned fall can be pretty embarrassing too : )

Last year I heard that you guys wanted to shoot a new video in Cologne. Shortly after that , the shooting got canceled. Why was that or got the video shot later?

We did shoot the „summertime“ video in Köln. It was shot just down the street from one of our favorite clubs - the underground. The shoot was delayed cuz we were waiting to see who was gonna pay for it!

When you think about your career, how would you describe it in one word?

Incredible!

Thanks for the time & interest!
